Such names have two groups of the payment methods available in ecommerce. With online methods customers charged during the purchase and with offline they are charged at a later time manually.
Examples of offline payment methods are charging credit cards with your good old terminal in brick & mortar store, phone order, purchase order, etc. some involving credit card processing, others not. Visa and other credit card companies do not recommend using offline payment methods because these often require storing credit card info in the store database or/and sent via email. They do not recommend nor they forbid. So, we designed Advanced Security add-on to cover these concerns. Once setup, the only known way to hack it is to guess the password you invent. Please consult with the technical support regarding proper security configuration if you plan using offline methods.
Accepting payments online usually takes a store owner to have a merchant account with a bank, account with a payment gateway and a software to work with the payment gateway. Some payment gateways, like PayPal, do not require merchant accounts. You can find full list of payment gateways integrated with LiteCommerce here. If the payment gateway you choose is not in the list, we can integrate it on commercial basis. We offer discounts on this service currently. Please contact us directly.
