1. Installation procedure

Installation script collects all necessary data to install LiteCommerce on your web server.

Installation script verifies FTP and HTTP setting by performing test connection and uploading test file to server.

Installation script transfers LiteCommerce files to your web server and set access permissions for necessary files.

After all neccesary files are transferred to your web server windows installer automatically launches web browser to finish the installation process.

On the next screen you need to supply access information to your MYSQL database and, the name of secure server if you are going to use SSL.

Installation script updates configuration files creates tables and populates database with neccessary data.

On the last step of installation administrator's account is created.

2. Maintaining your store with LiteCommerce Control Panel

Backing up and restoring of your shop is now no problem when using LiteCommerce Control Panel. You can backup only the database or make a backup of the whole store.

In most cases your shop is located at a remote web server but all customizations are usually performed on your local computer. Control Panel will take care of all necessary file transfers and will keep files synchronized. After downloading the design you will immediately have a set of HTML files ready for editing with any WYSISYG HTML editor or by hand...

...when you have finished editing just publish your design and you will immediately see the result.

Control Panel now has ability to upgrade your LiteCommerce software. It updates your scripts and makes necessary changes in the database.

When you need to change your hosting or move your shop from a development server to live environment all you need is to specify current and target locations. Panel will move your shop to a new location and will make all necessary configuration changes.

In the Settings dialog you should define all necessary parameters so that Control Panel could access your shop, network settings and default HTML editor for your system.

3. Customizing LiteCommerce with HTML editors

To customize design of your shop with WYSIWYG HTML editor use LiteCommerce Control Panel to download current design of your shop to your computer. LiteCommerce template files will be converted in plain HTML files suitable for editing in any HTML editor. Then open HTML set in your favourite WYSIWYG HTML editor eg. Frontpage or Dreamweaver.

Feel free to use drag'n'drop to reorganize blocks in the main template to achieve the desired shop layout.

When you have reached the necessary template, edit it as a regular HTML page to alter its look and feel. When finished editing publish your design with LiteCommerce Control Panel.

4. Customizing LiteCommerce with built-in editor

Template editor is useful when modifying look and feel by hand. It provides a convenient way to navigate through templates tree and has a built in editor. HTML, CSS and JavaScript knowledge are required when modifying templates by hand.

Editing LiteCommerce templates is the same as editing regular HTML files.
